RM-655-YS

STIHL RM 655 YS 21 in Hydrostatic Drive Walk Mower

The STIHL RM 655 YS is a heavy-duty 21-inch self-propelled walk-behind mower designed for users who need smooth hydrostatic speed control, high durability, and semi-commercial cutting performance. It sits in STIHL’s upper RM 655 series and is built for large residential lawns and light professional use.

It is powered by a Kohler HD775 173cc OHV engine, delivering strong torque and stable performance for thick grass and extended mowing sessions. The mower uses a hydrostatic drive system, allowing infinitely variable ground speed control, making it easier to adapt to different terrain and mowing conditions without shifting gears.

A key feature is the Blade Brake Clutch (BBC), which allows the blade to stop while the engine keeps running—useful for clearing debris or emptying the grass catcher without restarting the mower.

The 21-inch aluminum cutting deck keeps the mower lightweight while maintaining commercial-grade durability and corrosion resistance.
